Message from the President
Dear Friends of the TJUH Women’s Board:
Year two as president of the Women’s Board has been educational and enlightening. With generous support from board members, TJUH, and the local community, our efforts to raise monies for grants has been embraced with collective enthusiasm. This generosity and passion enabled the Women’s Board to award grants to 23 programs that advance our mission of providing for the comfort and care of hospitalized patients and their families, and improving the well-being of the greater Jefferson community.
Our Let’s Talk Series brought positive results in 2018, and the addition of new Women’s Board members is making a big difference in what we are able to accomplish. Penny Wise continues to make changes that contribute much-needed support to our fund raising efforts.
Two months into the new fiscal year, the membership is even more ready to continue our momentum.
- Planning is under way for our next Let’s Talk Series event, which will take place in early November.
- Liz Amey has been promoted to manager and is focusing the Penny Wise team on drawing in new clientele and merchandise, as well as integrating the shop’s new electronic system to better support the business. The thrift shop continues to look for volunteers and welcomes new fund raising ideas.
- Atrium Sales are still proving to be a great opportunity to support our fund raising and help Jefferson’s patients and families.
Thank you all for being the best part of my experience thus far and for all your support to me as your president. I look forward to working with you as we maintain and advance together the wonderful legacy and success of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Women’s Board.
