ThermiVa is a treatment for women who have experienced vaginal laxity due to vaginal delivery or the natural aging process. The vaginal revitalization treatment aims to correct the laxity of vaginal tissue through a temperature-controlled radiofrequency device.
ThermiVa can also help women reduce bladder symptoms. Specifically, the treatment has shown to provide relief from genitourinary syndrome of menopause, including vulvovaginal atrophy and urinary incontinence.
The vaginal revitalization technology is offered at Jefferson's Gynecology & Women's Services Department in Center City.
What to Expect
ThermiVa uses radiofrequency energy to gently heat tissue to rejuvenate collagen without pain or recovery time. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. Three sessions are recommended for best results.
You may experience slightly pink to red skin that's swollen and warm to the touch. This is normal and should subside one hour after the appointment. There is the possibility of mild cramps, which should resolve in 24 hours. You may also experience light spotting immediately after your ThermiVa treatment.
You should be able to continue with normal physical and sexual activity, unless otherwise directed by your doctor after treatment. You're able to swim, bathe or enjoy sitting in a hot tub immediately after your procedure, unless spotting or mild bleeding occurs.
Call your doctor immediately if you experience bleeding that lasts longer than 24 hours, pain that can't be helped by over-the-counter medication, cramping lasting longer than 24 hours, or a fever greater than 101 degrees.
