Pap tests should be part of your routine health screening approximately three years after you begin having sexual intercourse but no later than at 21 years old.

This procedure is done in your physician's office and can detect the presence of infection, inflammation, abnormal cells or cancer.

Jefferson obstetricians and gynecologists are committed to maintaining women's health through effective screening measures. Typically, you should have a Pap test every three years, but you and your physician will discuss what frequency is best for you based on your medical history.
