Thank you for choosing Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Our hospitals in Center City Philadelphia share a 13-acre campus with Thomas Jefferson University that is located just minutes away from major roads and within walking distance of mass transportation services, including SEPTA regional rail lines servicing the area's suburbs and Philadelphia International Airport, making our Hospitals easily accessible for regional, national and international patients. No one wants to be a patient in a hospital. It's difficult to be away from the familiar surroundings and comforts of your home. At Jefferson, we do everything possible to make your stay with us as pleasant as possible. We know that sometimes it's the smallest things that can make you feel better which aids in your recovery.

For example, if your want to get your hair done, hair care services are available to you in your room. Just call the Office of Patient and Family Experience at 215-955-7777 to arrange an appointment for a beautician or a barber. Or, if you would like an extra blanket or pillow, your nurse will be happy to provide them.

You can also expect that your room will be thoroughly cleaned once every day. Members of our housekeeping staff will come in between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you were out of your room when we cleaned, your housekeeper will leave a "While You Were Out" card to let you know we were there. If we missed something or you need additional services, don't hesitate to tell your housekeeper or notify the housekeeping supervisor.

We also have a wonderful staff of volunteers who can provide magazines and books and make purchases in the Gift Shop and Atrium Cafeteria. The Volunteer Services Office is open Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please call 215-955-6222 or 5-6222 (from inside the Hospital).
