Jefferson Health Hospitals Among Nation's Best According to U.S. News & World Report Rankings

PHILADELPHIA — The specialty care provided at Jefferson Health hospitals ranks among the best in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report. In the regional rankings, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc., ranked 2nd in the Philadelphia metro area and 3rd in Pennsylvania. Abington Hospital ranked 7th in the Philadelphia region and 13th in the state.

U.S. News & World Report ranked 10 Thomas Jefferson University Hospital specialties among the nation’s best, in addition to Magee Rehabilitation's ranking:

Diabetes and Endocrinology, Pulmonology and Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals were noted as high performers in the specialties rankings.

In addition to specialties, U.S. News & World Report rates hospitals for nine common procedures and conditions. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is rated as high performing in seven of the nine categories, including hip replacement, knee replacement, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, abdominal aortic aneurysm failure, colon cancer surgery, and lung cancer surgery. Abington Hospital is high performing in heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement, COPD, congestive heart failure, colon cancer surgery; and Jefferson Health’s hospitals in Northeast Philadelphia and New Jersey are rated as a high performers in the treatment of COPD and heart failure.
