Nourish'd Food Truck

Bringing Good, Healthy Food to Center City

PHILADELPHIA —Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Aramark announce that Nourish’d Food Truck will hit the road this summer serving up healthy, nutrient-rich “superfoods” for those on the go. Jefferson will become the first hospital in Philadelphia to launch a food truck—a joint project with Aramark two years in the making—leveraging its commitment to providing accessible services to patients, staff and the surrounding community, while promoting health and wellness.

“Nourish’d is an innovative way for Jefferson and Aramark to help provide the community with a healthy, flavorful culinary experience,” said William LaSalle, director of nutrition and dietetics at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and general manager at Aramark. “In addition to serving caregivers and staff, this unique mobile venue allows us to extend the reach of Jefferson’s comprehensive wellness initiatives throughout the area.”

The bright yellow food truck is open to the public and will be making stops at Jefferson’s center city campus, Methodist Hospital location and the Navy Yard, offering a seasonally inspired chef’s menu of breakfast, lunch and snack items, made with fresh produce and packed with superfoods like acai berry and chia seeds.

The menu features dishes like avocado toast, overnight oats, vegetable quesadillas and whole wheat banana pancakes for breakfast. Some highlights of the lunchtime menu include Korean beef tacos, tomatillo gazpacho and turkey strawberry farro salad. Summer-inspired special limited dishes have included acai ice pops and Portobello mushroom burgers topped with feta cheese and grilled pineapple. Vegan and gluten-free food items are available. Nutritional information is available on site for all menu items.

“Our culinary passion and commitment to health and wellness are the foundation of the Nourish’d menu offerings,” explains Matt Burke, Chef Manager of Nourish’d food truck. “Each breakfast and lunch item incorporates a variety of fresh, seasonal, healthy ingredients to deliver recipes that satisfy and excite our guests.”

Special limited menu items and truck location updates are regularly posted on the Nourish’d Food Truck Instagram and Twitter accounts. The food truck will operate mainly on Jefferson’s hospital campuses, but will also attend community festivals and events.
