Richard Webster Named Chief Operating Officer of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals
Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals has named Richard Webster, RN, MSN, NEA-BC, its next Chief Operating Officer (COO). Webster began his new role on Monday, November 5th. He was previously Vice President of Perioperative Services and Musculoskeletal Service Line Administrator.
Webster will be responsible for day-to-day hospital operations and have direct oversight over nursing, the Emergency Department at Jefferson, Perioperative Services, Pharmacy, clinical service lines, clinical ancillary and support services and Patient Services/Service Excellence.
"Rich has served Jefferson as a Nurse Manager, Assistant Vice President, and, for the past seven years, Hospital Vice President and Service Line Administrator. His deep experience in many of the areas he is now responsible for will help us toward our goal of strengthening our overall operational performance and enhancing the patient experience," says David P. McQuaid, FACHE, president of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals.
As Perioperative Vice President, Webster successfully built a team across campuses that permitted continued growth and access, while also meeting financial and expense targets.
In his new role as COO, he will focus his efforts on resource efficiency, improving the patient experience, employee and physician engagement, and coordinating and expanding Jefferson's physician-led service line approach.
