Tests & Treatments

  • Inferior Vena Cava Filter Placement & Removal
If you or someone you care for has a history of or is at risk of developing blood clots in their legs and blood thinning medications have not been successful, your physician may recommend an inferior vena cava filter placement procedure. Our Interventional Radiologists are also specialized in the removal of indwelling IVC filters.

  • Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a simple office-based treatment to eliminate varicose or spider veins, in which an irritant drug is injected into the veins with a very tiny needle.

  • Ultrasound
Ultrasounds vary by condition, but consist of high-frequency sound waves to look at organs and structures inside the body.

  • Vein Closure Surgery
For painful and unattractive varicose veins, Jefferson vascular surgeons perform the Closure® procedure, a minimally invasive treatment.

  • Venogram
This procedure uses a combination of contrast dye and X-rays to visualize the veins in the legs to diagnose blockage of blood flow from acute or chronic deep vein thrombosis.
