Varicose veins are a common condition causing pain and discomfort, which can be treated minimally invasively by our physicians at the Jefferson Vein Treatment Practice and Jefferson Vascular Center.

Our physicians are subspecialty trained and experienced in providing the full range of varicose vein treatments, including endovenous laser treatment (also known as EVLT), and Closure® radio frequency ablation which has replaced vein stripping. Our team of physicians will coordinate care to eliminate undesirable varicose veins.

At the Jefferson Vein Treatment Practice, our interventional radiologists performed the first VenaSeal™ procedure at Jefferson, making it the first of its kind at an academic hospital in Philadelphia.

This procedure uses a medical adhesive (a.k.a. glue) for vein closure to treat venous insufficiency and varicose veins, allowing patients to walk out of the same-day procedure and immediately return to their daily activities without the need for compression stockings.

They also provide comprehensive management of vein disease with the addition of Ambulatory Phlebectomy (a.k.a. vein removal) and Sclerotherapy procedures as needed to optimize outcomes. Our Interventional Radiologists will perform a comprehensive assessment to identify the optimal personalized treatment plan for each patient.
