Typhoid Fever

Typhoid fever is very common in the developing countries, and travelers to Asia (except Japan), Africa and Latin America are especially at risk. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends when traveling to an area where typhoid fever is common that vaccinations be considered one week prior to traveling.

For expert help regarding typhoid fever, turn to the Travel Medicine Services team at Jefferson. Our services are comprehensive and convenient. Based on where you plan to journey, we can advise you of the precautions you should take and provide any needed vaccinations.

During your visit to our office, our team will also provide helpful hints to keep you healthy before and during your trip.

Making an appointment

Although it's ideal to schedule your appointment six to eight weeks before your departure date, if you're leaving sooner, please don't assume you cannot or should not seek care. Appointments for Travel Medicine Services are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
