  • CAR-T Immunotherapy for Cancer
Cancer immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, or CAR-T therapy, is FDA-approved for patients with two kinds of blood cancers, adult B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

  • Glossectomy
During a glossectomy, a portion of the tongue is removed with a small area of surrounding normal tongue tissue to ensure that all of the cancer is removed.

  • Laryngoscopy with Biopsy
A laryngoscopy with biopsy is one of many in the work-up and treatment of head and neck cancers at Jefferson.

  • Parotidectomy
When cancerous tumors develop in the parotid gland, head and neck surgeons perform a parotidectomy to remove that part of the gland.

  • Sialendoscopy
Sialendoscopy allows our physicians to get into the incredibly small ducts while avoiding open surgery for treating sialolithiasis, a condition in which painful stones form within a salivary gland.

  • Total Laryngectomy
Total laryngectomy is a surgical procedure in which the whole larynx or voice box is removed, and a stoma (opening) is made in the trachea (windpipe) in the front of the neck in which you will breathe through.
