Tests & Treatments

  • Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy has the ability to reach cancer that may have spread, even microscopically, throughout the body.

  • Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy treatment for prostate cancer is used in those rare instances when the cancer returns or with organ-confined prostate cancer.

  • Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization (FISH)
This testing technique is used to identify particular DNA sequences in cells, tissues and tumors that may be cancerous.

  • Laparoscopic & Robotic Radical Prostatectomy
A laparoscopic prostatectomy is a less invasive prostate cancer treatment that urologists at Jefferson can offer patients suffering from prostate cancer in the Philadelphia area.

  • Nephrectomy
If you are diagnosed with a tumor of the kidney or another condition that prevents the kidney from functioning properly, a nephrectomy may be required.

  • Orchiectomy
Orchiectomy is typically done on an outpatient basis and you can typically return to your daily activities within one to two weeks. If you have been diagnosed with testicular or prostate cancer, an orchiectomy may be recommended to remove one or both testicles.
