Rheumatic Heart Disease

Jefferson physicians can provide you with specialized, expert care to treat your heart damaged by rheumatic fever. If your heart valves have been damaged, our physicians can perform minimally invasive procedures to open a narrowed valve through valvuloplasty or repair the valve. If repair is not possible, our cardiothoracic surgeons can replace the valve altogether with an artificial device.

If your heart muscle has been weakened, the Jefferson Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Center can provide individualized care to strengthen your heart and manage resulting heart failure.
