Oral Lesions

Common oral lesions include oral candidiasis (white plaques), canker sores and a hairy tongue (a hair-like appearance of the tongue). For expert diagnosis and treatment of oral lesions, seek the oral and maxillofacial surgeons at Jefferson. To diagnose oral lesions, our oral surgeons will ask for your medical history and order a CT or MRI scan. Treatments may include topical creams and regular tongue brushing and scraping.
