Frequently Asked Questions
Will I have a private bathroom?
Yes, every patient has a private bedroom and bathroom. The rooms feature comfortable furnishings and flat-screen TVs with cable – in other words, what you would expect to enjoy in a hotel. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, providing a convenient place to shower and get dressed before you leave.
Can I park my car overnight?
Yes, you can park your car overnight in the lot connected to our facility. This lot provides secure, direct access to our Center, and we provide free parking to patients on the night of their sleep study.
What should I wear during my study? Can I wear my own pajamas? Can I bring my own pillow?
Simply wear what you would normally wear to sleep, although we recommend button-down pajamas. And, yes, feel free to bring your own pillow if that helps you to relax and fall asleep.
Do you provide food during studies?
For night studies, we provide a light snack in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Plan to eat dinner before arriving. If you typically have a bite to eat before bed, you may wish to bring your own snack food and beverage.
For day studies, our catering department provides meals based on the length of your stay at the Jefferson Sleep Disorders Center.
What should I do about my nighttime medications?
Please bring your medications with you. You are responsible for taking them. (Our staff is not permitted to dispense any medications to our patients.)
Can I bring my loved one?
Accommodations are available for caregivers and parents of minors.
Do I have to take off from work for my sleep study?
One of the advantages of the Jefferson Sleep Disorders Center is the convenience of our sleep studies. Because we run night studies from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., you can simply come after work, sleep, get showered and dressed and then head out to work the next morning. However, if your doctor has ordered a daytime study, special work arrangements may be needed.
What else do you provide during sleep studies?
In each room, we provide soap and shampoo. You can use what we provide or bring your own toiletries – just as you would in a hotel.
