Jefferson Health's Movement Disorders Program brings together the expertise of leading neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuropsychologists to treat disorders such as those involving uncoordinated movements, known as ataxia, both hereditary and sporadic. In addition to primary care, we can provide the necessary physical, occupational and speech therapy to help manage the disorder and enhance your quality of life.

Jefferson Health also has multidisciplinary centers dedicated to treating the possible underlying causes of ataxia such as stroke, tumors, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis. Our neurologists have pioneered new treatments of stroke and are on the leading edge in developing new treatments of everything from multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease to epilepsy and headache, as well as other nerve and muscle diseases.
