How much does a Jefferson Neurosurgery Second Opinion cost?

Is the Jefferson Neurosurgery Second Opinion Portal only for “surgical” second opinions?

Yes. This service only offers second opinions for neurosurgical cases. If your condition does not warrant surgery, you will be referred to 1-800-JEFF-NOW to make an appointment with the appropriate specialist.

Do I need to send in my medical records?

Yes. You need to attach copies of your medical records along with imaging and other necessary information. Each diagnosis has a list of required and recommended items. Once you create your account and begin the process you will be able to see a list of what information is required for your individual medical concern.

Who chooses the physician that will provide my online second opinion?

After carefully reviewing your second opinion request and your medical records, our Neurosurgery Second Opinion Coordinator will determine which Jefferson physician specialist is most appropriate to handle your online second opinion case. You can request a specific physician if desired and we will do our best to accommodate that request, but we cannot guarantee that specialist will be assigned to your case.

How do I pay for my Jefferson Neurosurgery Second Opinion?

Payment is due when you submit your Second Opinion request. We accept all major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Will my insurance cover the cost of my Jefferson Neurosurgery Second Opinion?
