Farber Hospitalist Service

Group of medical professionals talking in a huddle at a hospital.

Our hospitalists – or internal medicine-trained physicians – work with you in an inpatient setting, instead of a doctor’s office. Our neurosurgery hospitalists pull together other teams to make sure you're getting the specific care you need in the hospital for even the most complex conditions.

Our compassionate and focused hospitalist services are the first in the nation to apply this model of care.

Why Jefferson Health?

We wrote the book on neurosurgery hospitalists – really. The Medical Management of Neurosurgical Patients is a first-of-its-kind textbook designed to teach other institutions, worldwide, how to establish the groundwork and training that already exists here at Jefferson.

At Jefferson Health, we work differently than similar services across the country, in that we work as the primary team for you. Our hospitalists organize multidisciplinary consultations from whichever specialty is relevant to your care, whether that be infectious disease or endocrinology.

Our unique model for care gives us a chance to provide the best possible outcome for you and/or your loved ones at Jefferson Health. Data show that this type of approach decreases the length of stay, mortality, morbidity and readmissions.
