Services Through Vascular Surgery

Our vascular surgeons provide all types of carotid, aortic, and lower extremity repairs. Specific studies/procedures offered in conjunction with the Jefferson Vascular Center (JVC) include:

  • Carotid surgery (CEA)
  • Carotid stenting
  • Abdominal aortic stenting
  • Abdominal aortic surgery
  • Thoracic aortic stenting
  • Thoracic aortic surgery
  • Lower extremity stenting
  • Lower extremity surgery

Services through Vascular Medicine

You can benefit from our services and treatments if you:

  • Have a history of blood clots and are now pregnant
  • Have a history of blood clots and need to travel
  • Have a history of blood clots and need a second opinion
  • Have a family history of blood clots
  • Are experiencing cold arms, hands, legs or feet
  • Have high cholesterol that's associated with leg or arm pain
  • Need a surgical evaluation while taking Warfarin or Coumadin®
  • Need a stent in your veins
  • Have swollen, painful or hard veins and/or swollen, painful and warm arms or legs
  • Have varicose veins
  • Are currently taking Arixtra®, Coumadin, Heparin, Lovenox®, Innohep® or Fragmin®

In addition to providing initial consultations and ongoing advocacy for patients, the Vascular Center staff performs the following procedures:

  • Venous ultrasound to diagnose deep vein thrombosis, often referred to as DVT
  • Venous ultrasound to evaluate the degree of chronic venous insufficiency
  • Noninvasive assessment of peripheral artery disease, including peripheral arteries and carotid arteries
