Diagnosing & Treating Skin Conditions in Children

Serious skin diseases and conditions that can begin during childhood and require the expertise of our pediatric dermatologists include:

  • Acne
  • Birthmarks
  • Dermatitis
  • Eczema
  • Hair loss
  • Moles
  • Psoriasis
  • Seborrhea (cradle cap)
  • Skin infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
  • Warts

To diagnose skin conditions and diseases, our dermatologists perform skin examinations of the total body and evaluate birthmarks and moles. A skin biopsy may be performed to diagnose or rule out certain conditions and diseases.

Treatments consist of minor surgical procedures, such as freezing or removal of warts, or removal of moles and laser treatment of certain birthmarks, and medications or creams. Outpatient services are provided at our Center City Campus and at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware.
