  • Video/Telehealth visits
These visits allow you to use a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) or desktop computer with a camera to speak with your provider through a video connection.
  • Expanded In-person appointments
We added early-morning and evening appointments for those with medical conditions that make them more susceptible to illness. Additionally, we created appropriate space between chairs in waiting areas and ensure that all patients and care team members have masks and appropriate protection.

Specializing in the advanced diagnosis and targeted treatment of vulvovaginal conditions

The Jefferson Vulvovaginal Health Center is dedicated to helping women whose vulvovaginal symptoms have not been relieved despite medical treatment. Approximately ten million office visits each year are for vulvovaginal symptoms, including discharge, itching, odor or soreness and pain. For most women, the medications their primary care providers or gynecologists prescribe work well, and they are symptom-free. But, the solution is not always that simple and may require our expertise at the Jefferson Vulvovaginal Health Center to help you return to your normal life, free of vulvovaginal discomfort.

Experience & Expertise

The Jefferson Vulvovaginal Health Center is one of the few programs in the country, and one of the largest programs in the world, focused on comprehensive vulvovaginal health. Our Center draws patients from all over the country and the world who have undiagnosed, recurrent and/or chronic vulvovaginal conditions. With over 50 years of cumulative clinical experience in vulvovaginal health, our providers have diagnosed and treated a broad range of common and rare diseases. Our expertise in vulvovaginal health is unparalleled with hundreds of research publications and Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doc™ awards for over 15 consecutive years.

Person-Centered Approach

On average, patients come to us after seeing five to eight providers who were unable to alleviate their chronic and/or recurrent symptoms. At Jefferson Health, we can help, and it all starts with taking the time to listen to you. Our appointment times are extended so we can take the time to understand your symptoms and history and address your questions and concerns. Our discussions, coupled with a thorough physical exam and targeted laboratory testing, enable us to identify and treat the cause of your symptoms.

Multidisciplinary Team

The Jefferson Vulvovaginal Health Center partners with specialists across Jefferson Health, including urogynecologists, urologists, pelvic pain specialists, gynecologic oncologists, radiologists, dermatologists, gastroenterologists and pelvic floor physical therapists. Our multidisciplinary approach enables us to evaluate your symptoms from different, expert perspectives to accurately diagnose and treat complex, multifactorial vulvovaginal conditions.
