Parent & Family Education
Virtual Classes during COVID-19
Jefferson’s first priority is the safety of you and your baby. Due to current health concerns, on-site classes will now be held as interactive, online classes via Zoom video conferencing.
If you need a refill of birth control, please send us a message through MyChart and we will be happy to extend your prescription.
If you have an urgent need to be seen, please contact the office and we will schedule a telehealth visit or an in-person visit, depending on the concern.
Non-urgent surgeries will be postponed. Your surgeon will reach out to you regarding rescheduling.
Learn some of the necessary steps we’ve taken to ensure that all of our patients and healthcare providers are safe at all of our locations. For more information about scheduled appointments and visitor policies, please read our message below and continue checking our site for updates:

Empowering expectant parents and families through education
At Jefferson Health, patient education is a top priority. We offer a variety of Parent & Family Education classes throughout the year to ensure you feel prepared during every step of your pregnancy journey. Class topics range from childbirth to breastfeeding to newborn care.
Benefits for You
Our classes will give you the knowledge, tools and resources to feel confident from pregnancy to delivery to caring for your newborn.
Expert Instructors
All of our classes are taught by Jefferson Health nurses who are certified in the particular subject matter of the class. Our nurse instructors not only teach the classes, but are also involved in creating the course content.
Family Resources
Having a baby is often a family affair. We encourage you to take the classes with your partner and offer classes designed for siblings and grandparents. We want to help your whole family feel prepared and excited for what’s to come.
Affordable Opportunities
At Jefferson Health, we believe all expectant parents should have access to prenatal education. Our classes are open to everyone, not just Jefferson Health patients. We strive to make our classes as affordable as possible, offering many classes free of charge.
Sense of Community
Our classes go beyond education to build a sense of community among expectant parents. We create a welcoming environment to make everyone feel comfortable asking questions. Chances are, you’ll get answers to questions you didn’t even know you had!
