Improving patient outcomes using minimally invasive surgical techniques

Jefferson Health Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery has the technology, training and expertise to use a minimally invasive approach for your surgical needs, enabling quicker recovery, same-day discharge and less scarring. We perform minimally invasive surgery to treat a variety of conditions, including the following:

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
The most common symptom of fibroids is abnormal uterine bleeding, or irregular menstrual cycles. Our expert team can diagnose and treat all of the different types of abnormal bleeding, including heavy periods, the most common type.

Adenomyosis
A condition in which the endometrium (the inner uterine lining) grows into the myometrium (the muscle uterine wall), which can cause menstrual pain and heavier menstrual flows.

Dysmenorrhea
A type of abnormal uterine bleeding, dysmenorrhea is a menstrual condition characterized by severe and frequent menstrual cramps and pain. We have the expertise to diagnose and treat all of the different types of abnormal bleeding.

Endometriosis
Endometriosis can contribute to pelvic pain and infertility, at least partly by causing scarring in and around the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Based on your symptoms and fertility plans, we will discuss medication and surgery treatment options. If surgery is required, we have the surgical expertise to use a minimally invasive approach for even the most complex cases of endometriosis.

Menometrorrhagia
A type of abnormal uterine bleeding, menometrorrhagia is a menstrual condition characterized by heavy or prolonged vaginal bleeding that occurs irregularly. We have the expertise to diagnose and treat all of the different types of abnormal bleeding.

Ovarian Cysts
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs (cysts) in or on the ovary that usually don’t cause symptoms and disappear on their own. If the cysts do not resolve on their own and you experience symptoms, we are experts in treating ovarian cysts using medication or surgery.

Uterine Fibroids
Our team specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of uterine fibroids, benign tumors arising from the muscular walls of the uterus. Fibroids can interfere with getting pregnant and may also contribute to pregnancy losses.
