The Farber and Jefferson Journey

The Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson was established with a generous gift from the Farber Family Foundation, Inc., and first opened its doors in early 2002. Their contribution builds upon the established history of neuroscience at Jefferson.

Diseases & Conditions

The Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson is dedicated to progressing the research, education, and treatment of neurological diseases and conditions.

Research is at the heart of the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson, and it remains a crucial part of our mission. Each department carries out basic, translational, and clinical research designed to understand fundamental mechanisms of the normal and diseased brain. Our specialists translate that understanding into treatments for neurodegenerative and other devastating disorders.

The Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience is also the proud home to the Weinberg ALS Center, which combines excellence in basic research with a robust multidisciplinary treatment clinic, which is supported by The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
