- Chemical burns
- Lacerations to the eye or eyelid
- Detached or torn retina
- Foreign object in the eye
- Sudden loss of vision
- Severe eyelid swelling or inability to open the eye
- Eye problems that could be warning signs of stroke or multiple sclerosis
The Wills Eye Emergency Department at Jefferson is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We work in close collaboration with Jefferson's Comprehensive Traumatic Injury Program to care for patients with serious injuries to the eye.
