The Bariatric Surgery Support Group is an in-person forum designed to provide education, assistance and support for a healthier lifestyle and behaviors.

Our group is a safe, positive and supportive environment where all patients are welcome before or after surgery. Brittany McCauley, RD, LDN, and Samantha Eckardt, RD, LDN, lead this group.

Discussion within the group is focused around weight management and can include topics such as:

  • Stress/emotional eating management
  • Skill-building for long-term weight loss
  • Social support/pressures
  • Goal setting
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise

How Do I Attend?

The series will continually rotate throughout the year. Topics will vary.

Attend in-person or virtually.

Virtual online sign-in to the 5 p.m. support group session is available via ZOOM! Cloud Meetings App. Go to Join a Meeting and enter the nine-digit meeting ID number: 290-186-7783. Please contact Christina at if you need additional help joining virtually.

What If I Can't Make A Meeting?

Can’t make it into the office? Jefferson’s Bariatrics department is now offering a way for you to virtually participate in your support group with Telehealth. Using any web-enabled device that has a camera, such as a smartphone, tablet or computer, you can continue your journey to better health without interrupting your other responsibilities.
