Multidisciplinary Asthma Care at Jefferson in Philadelphia

We coordinate with Jefferson specialists in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley who are experts in speech pathology, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), gastroenterology and integrative medicine in order to expedite the care of your vocal cord dysfunction, reflux, respiratory or stress-related disease.

In addition, our specialists are actively involved in clinical and laboratory research related to asthma, and you may be eligible to participate.

Bronchial Thermoplasty for Treating Severe Persistent Asthma

For patients with severe persistent asthma despite taking daily controller medications and requiring frequent reliever medication use, bronchial thermoplasty may be an option.

Performed by specially trained pulmonologists at Jefferson, FDA-approved bronchial thermoplasty delivers radiofrequency energy (or heat) to the airway walls in the lungs to reduce excess airway smooth muscle and limit the muscle's ability to constrict the airways – and help you breathe better.
