Sinus X-ray

Jefferson physicians use sinus X-rays to determine if you have sustained an injury or have other problems in the sinuses, to assess inflammation or infection or to determine the location and size of a tumor or other mass. The procedure may also be used to evaluate the patient after sinus surgery.

Sinus X-rays are performed by radiologists at Jefferson who consult with otolaryngologists on the results of your test. Should you need surgery, our head and neck surgeons perform the largest volume of sinus surgeries in the Delaware Valley – including the less invasive, leading-edge procedure known as 3-D image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery. Image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery provides invaluable information that was previously unavailable to surgeons; we continue to actively research ways to refine this technology.
