Neuroendoscopy

Coping with the diagnosis of a brain tumor may be overwhelming for you and your family; coping with the fact that the tumor is deep within the brain and requires surgery may be even more daunting. One of the best places to receive treatment for this serious condition is Jefferson.

What Does Neuroendoscopy Involve?

Our expert neurosurgeons utilize a technique called neuroendoscopy to insert a thin tube into the brain. This allows the surgeon to move a probe within the ventricular cavity to the region containing the tumor and then to perform microsurgery, which is carefully targeted surgery that is relatively fast and presents minimal risk to the patient.

Our goal is to ensure that healthy cells surrounding the tumor are spared by utilizing this safe and noninvasive procedure.
