MR Spectroscopy

Coping with the diagnosis of a brain tumor may be overwhelming for you and your family. One of the best places in the country for treatment of brain tumors is Jefferson. Our world-class radiologists utilize the latest imaging techniques including magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy, which helps distinguish brain tumors from other diseases such as abscess, stroke and multiple sclerosis. This imaging procedure helps the neurosurgeon select the most appropriate place to biopsy certain brain tumors.

Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience is the only hospital in the region dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, including brain tumors. Each year, the physicians at Jefferson treat the largest combined volume of brain tumors, aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in the nation.
