Joint Aspiration

Jefferson physicians use joint aspiration to determine if you have gout, various types of arthritis or joint infection. Joint aspiration is performed by removing fluid from the space around a joint using a needle and syringe.

Joint aspiration procedures at Jefferson are performed by physicians from our Musculoskeletal Radiology Division. Our surgeons' goal will be to help decrease your pain and restore you to an optimal activity level and quality of life.
