Patient and Family Experience Representatives
As a patient at Jefferson University Hospital, you may have questions about your care. Our Patient and Family Experience representatives help patients and families to address issues involving patient rights, patient satisfaction and complaint management.
Our representatives are committed to creating and delivering a consistent level of outstanding service by providing timely and effective information and resolution of problems, as well as being a universal resource of information.
To reach a representative, please call 215-955-7777, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Our representatives can also assist with interpreter services (foreign language and sign language), auxiliary aids for the deaf and hearing impaired, hotel and housing accommodations, the safekeeping of patients' belongings and valuables, hair care and wigs.
Good nutrition is key to good health, and it's an important part of your treatment. Your physician may order either a regular diet or a special diet suited to your needs or medical condition.
Each day you'll be given a menu with your breakfast tray to fill out for the following day's meals. A food service representative will be in by 10 a.m. to collect your menu selections. Remember that the food choices you make today will be served to you tomorrow. If you have special requests due to cultural, religious or personal preferences, such as snacks, kosher meals, vegetarian meals or guest trays, simply ask the food service representative to make arrangements for you.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Lunch is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dinner starts at 4:45 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. If you are out of your room for a procedure or test when meals are served, ask your nurse if you are allowed to eat. The nurse will call for the meal to be delivered to you.
To protect the health and well-being of our patients, visitors, employees, students, and volunteers, Jefferson is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted in all Jefferson buildings and within 50’ of any entryway to or exit from Jefferson buildings, and within 50’ of driveways, canopies, archways and plazas. We are also smoke free in campus parking areas.
We take your privacy very seriously. If someone calls or stops by our Information Desk, our staff is only permitted to release your room and telephone number. Information about your diagnosis, treatment and any other items related to your care are considered confidential and are never given out.

If mail is received for you after discharge, it will be forwarded to your home address.
