The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health Welcomes Anthony J. Bazzan, MD, FACN, ABIHM, Expert in Integrative Medicine
Dr. Bazzan moves his thriving practice to the Institute's location on the Main Line
VILLANOVA, PA — Anthony J. Bazzan, MD, FACN, ABIHM, joined the Villanova, Pa., location of The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at Jefferson as Associate Director, where his role will include oversight of clinical programs. Dr. Bazzan is a nationally-renowned expert in bioidentical hormone replacement for treating the symptoms of natural decline in sex hormone production and intravenous therapies designed to restore general health or support treatment for cancer and other diseases.
"Dr. Bazzan has been a key member of integrative medicine at Jefferson for more than a decade. His unique expertise was instrumental in creating our highly successful micronutrient infusion program, which led to ground-breaking research with vitamin C and other molecules. Dr. Bazzan also contributed to the development of our Executive Great Life program, which has become a flagship destination for executive health," said Daniel A. Monti, MD, MBA, Senior Vice President and the Ellen and Ron Caplan Professor and Director of the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health.
"Despite these and other significant contributions, we only had the benefit of his tremendous expertise on a part-time basis. We're thrilled that he will be joining us full time. Dr. Bazzan earned his medical degree from the University of Padua School of Medicine in Padua, Italy and completed residency at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He also completed a geriatric fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Bazzan held faculty appointments at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and University of West Virginia before joining Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formerly Jefferson Medical College) in 2000. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Integrative and Holistic Medicine.
Dr. Bazzan is a member of the medical science division of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center
and a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition. He is a frequently invited speaker on the topics of integrative medicine, integrative cancer care, hormone replacement therapy and maximizing wellness. He is co-author of the popular press book, The Great Life Makeover. Dr. Bazzan has published peer-reviewed research in integrative medicine, in particular, micronutrient infusions in patients with cancer or neurodegenerative disease.
