Jefferson Endoscopy Center Opens in Bala Cynwyd Pa
The recently opened Jefferson Endoscopy Center at Bala offers patients the expertise of an academic medical center with the convenience of a community location. This ambulatory surgery center is available for patients in need of diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopies and colonoscopies.
“The Jefferson Endoscopy Center at Bala is one more way that we are reaching out to connect patients with exceptional gastrointestinal care close to their home,” said Anthony J. DiMarino, Jr., M.D., the William Rorer Professor of Medicine and Division Director of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University.
The brand-new center features two procedure rooms, enhanced privacy features, free parking and first-floor accessibility. Jefferson also offers direct access colonoscopies, which allows otherwise healthy patients to schedule their procedure without an additional appointment first.
“We’re thrilled to offer our patients an additional location,” said Daniel Quirk, M.D., MPH, Medical Director of the Jefferson Endoscopy Center at Bala. “Colonoscopy has been shown to reduce colorectal cancer incidence and mortality by as much as 70 percent. By expanding our reach, we hope that it will be easier and more convenient for our patients to obtain necessary screening and treatment.”
The Jefferson Endoscopy Center at Bala is open Monday through Friday and located at 130 Presidential Blvd, Bala Cynwyd, Pa., 19004. Patients can call 215-955-8900 for an appointment or more information.
