U.S. News & World Report Names Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and Specialties to National Rankings

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals continues its record of excellence in healthcare with recognition from U.S. News & World Report’s annual listing of top hospitals and specialties. Jefferson ranks in the top 10 facilities in the Philadelphia metro area (2nd) and Pennsylvania (4th).

“This is a true reflection of Jefferson’s commitment to our patients,” said David P. McQuaid, FACHE, EVP Clinical Affairs Jefferson Health System, President & CEO, Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. “It’s an honor to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report for our team’s dedication to the health of the communities we serve.”

U.S. News & World Report, which compiles and publishes the defining surveys in health care, placed Jefferson Orthopedics as the number eight program in the country. This was Jefferson’s third consecutive year to be named to the top ten orthopedics programs in the country.

Seven additional Jefferson specialty programs are recognized by the rankings: Cancer (27th); Otolaryngology/ear, nose and throat (30th); Urology (31st); Gastroenterology and GI Surgery (32nd); Neurology and Neurosurgery (33rd); Nephrology (42nd); and Gynecology (47th).

Jefferson scored high marks in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Geriatrics, and Pulmonology, each program earning a position in the high-performing category.

In announcing the U.S. News results, McQuaid said, “This is an extraordinary recognition for our talented team of physicians, nurses and professional staff. It is their day-to-day efforts that make Jefferson’s patient care exemplary.”
