For the ninth year running, the Philadelphia Eagles and Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals have teamed up for the fight against breast cancer with the annual Tackling Breast Cancer (TBC) campaign. On Sunday, October 20th, when the Eagles suit up against the Dallas Cowboys, volunteers from Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals will be selling pink Eagles hats, ties and scarves at Lincoln Financial Field to raise money for breast cancer care and research in the Philadelphia area. Each fan will also receive a pink rally towel, courtesy of Snapple.

In partnership with Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, the Eagles have invited 20 breast cancer survivors along with each of their greatest fans to hold a large pink ribbon on the field during the national anthem. Furthermore, a “pink theme” will be incorporated into the game entertainment in an effort to create awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. From Eagles Cheerleaders sporting pink pom-poms to the drumline performing with pink drum sticks, the fight against breast cancer will be strongly supported at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

"The Jefferson Breast Care Center is proud to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles to fundraise and build awareness about breast cancer," said Massimo Cristofanilli, Ph.D., Director of the Jefferson Breast Care Center. "With the help of the Eagles, the Tackling Breast Cancer campaign and all of the fans who support our efforts, we move just a little bit faster towards a cure."

This year, Eagles fans will be able to show their support by engaging in the conversation through social media. Use the hashtag #EaglesTBC when posting about breast cancer and the Eagles and then visit PhiladelphiaEagles.com/TBC to see posts as they happen live.

“We are proud to partner once again with Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals to help raise awareness and to support breast cancer care and research in the Philadelphia area,” said Eagles President Don Smolenski. “Since the inception of our program in 2005, Eagles fans have been incredibly supportive of the effort to tackle breast cancer.”

The Eagles TBC initiatives will continue throughout the month of October. For more information on Eagles TBC and other events, please visit PhiladelphiaEagles.com.
