Cardiologist Gordon R. Reeves, M.D., Joins Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Team at Jefferson Heart Institute
Gordon R. Reeves, M.D., has joined the Division of Cardiology as a member of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant Team at the Jefferson Heart Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has also been named assistant professor of medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Reeves has been with Jefferson since 2008 as a fellow in cardiovascular medicine, a three-year fellowship completed in 2011 and as a fellow in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant, a one-year fellowship completed in June. Prior to this, he served as a medical instructor and hospitalist attending at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. Dr. Reeves also completed his internship and residency at Duke University Hospital.
He also holds a master's degree in physical therapy and worked as a physical therapist prior to attending medical school. In addition, Dr. Reeves served for two years as a teacher in under-resourced school districts in North Carolina as a member of the national teacher corps Teach for America.
Dr. Reeves received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed his undergraduate degree in biology at Duke University.
