April 19, 2012
Michael S. Weinstein, MD, FACS, associate professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, has been named an associate editor and podcast host of the iCritical Care Podcasts (www.sccm.org/iCriticalCare). The iCritical Care Podcasts feature in-depth interviews with authors from the Society’s journals, Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, as well as with prominent members of the critical care community. In this role, Dr. Weinstein will assist in developing content for podcasts and conducting interviews, focusing on medical topics within adult critical care.
Launched in 2005, the iCritical Care Podcast was among the first medical podcasts featuring journal content and is commonly ranked among the top 20 medical podcasts on iTunes. Dr. Weinstein joins colleagues Jeffrey Guy, MD, MD, MSc, MMHC, iCritical Care Editor, and Margaret Parker, MD, FCCM, Associate iCritical Care Editor.
“I am very excited to take part in furthering the education of critical care medicine,” says Dr. Weinstein. “Podcasts are a great instrument to add to our toolbox of traditional teaching methods. They conveniently allow healthcare providers to obtain the latest medical information how and when they need it.”
The Society of Critical Care Medicine is the largest multiprofessional organization dedicated to ensuring excellence and consistency in the practice of critical care.
