Patrick J. Greaney, M.D., Joins Department of Surgery at Jefferson
Patrick J. Greaney, Jr., M.D., recently joined the Department of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was named assistant professor of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Greaney specializes in plastic surgery.
Dr. Greaney comes to Jefferson from New York University - Langone Medical Center where he completed a fellowship in microsurgery. Prior to that, Dr. Greaney completed his plastic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where he was chief resident and recipient of the Leo M. Davidoff Award for outstanding achievement in teaching his peers. Additionally, he completed a second fellowship in burn reconstruction at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Board-Certified in general surgery, Dr. Greaney completed his general surgery internship, residency, and senior research fellowship in stem cell tissue engineering at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and his bachelor’s degree in biology from Penn State University after acceptance into the Penn State/Jefferson six-year accelerated program.
Dr. Greaney has received numerous honors and awards, including the Jefferson Chief Resident Teaching Award and the 2011 New York University Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery “Man in the Trenches” award. He has authored multiple journal articles and has presented his research at national and international plastic surgery conferences.
Dr. Greaney is a member of the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons.
