Jacqueline S. Urtecho, M.D., Joins Department of Neurological Surgery at Jefferson
Jacqueline S. Urtecho, M.D., recently joined the departments of Neurology and Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was named assistant professor of Neurology at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Urtecho specializes in stroke and neurocritical care.
Prior to her appointment, Dr. Urtecho completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Before that, she completed her residency in neurology and an internship in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Urtecho has authored multiple articles which have been published in medical journals such as Neurology, Critical Care, and Annals of Thoracic Surgery. She has presented her research on stroke care at national medical conferences.
Dr. Urtecho has received numerous honors and awards. She has served as a national coordinator for the Women in Medicine forum of the American Medical Student Association and was an invited participant in the Woman to Woman Physicians Mentoring Program of the American Medical Women’s Association.
A member of the Neurocritical Care Society, Dr. Urtecho has also served as a member of the Ethics Committee, the Resident Selection Committee and the chief resident committee at Temple University Hospital.
