Osteoradionecrosis of the Jaw (ORN)

Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) of the jaw is a debilitating and deforming complication of radiation therapy when being treated for a head and neck cancer. ORN occurs when the mandible (lower jaw) and/or maxilla (upper jaw) are directly in the field of radiation. You may experience pain, swelling and malocclusion (misalignment of the teeth). For diagnosis and treatment of this condition, seek the oral and maxillofacial surgeons at Jefferson.

We will perform a thorough dental evaluation and outline a complete treatment plan, which may include surgery.
