Osteochondroma

While osteochondroma is not cancerous, the masses can be painful and disrupt the normal development of bones. Surgery to remove the masses and medications to control the pain of osteochondroma is managed by orthopedic surgeons at Jefferson.

Jefferson constitutes the largest and most experienced orthopedic practice in the Philadelphia region. Our orthopedic surgeons are specialists who use both surgical and nonsurgical procedures to treat seven specialty areas of orthopedics: hip and knee, shoulder and elbow, foot and ankle, hand and wrist, spine, sports medicine and musculoskeletal oncology. This approach gives our physicians and support staff unique insights into how osteochondroma can impact the musculoskeletal system at any age.
