Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. Due to the high number of applications we received, the adult application process is now closed for winter 2017. We will open again in July 2017 for the fall volunteer recruitment season.
Due to the interest in our volunteer program, we highly recommend completing the application as soon as it becomes available.
All potential volunteers need to complete an online application and MUST download and complete the Adult Volunteer Resume, we provide in order to be considered. In the resume, please specify the volunteer positions you prefer from the list of programs. To start the application process, go to https://recruit.jefferson.edu, and search for "Adult Volunteer."
For questions about our volunteer programs or the requirements, please call 215-955-6222.
Why Volunteer at Jefferson?
There are many reasons why people volunteer their time: learning new skills, meeting new friends, exploring careers in the healthcare field and enjoying a sense of personal satisfaction are just a few examples. At Jefferson, we have many programs and areas that accept volunteers, including the Surgical Waiting Area, Radiology, Emergency Department, Gift Shop and Knitting Program.
You can join the Jefferson team and share your time and talents in many ways.
Expect a 6- to 8-week process before becoming a volunteer at Jefferson.
What Are the Hours and Locations for Volunteering?
Most volunteers give an average of 3 to 4 hours per week; some give more. Most volunteer work takes place during the day but there are also a limited number of evening and weekend positions available.
For each 4-hour shift, you will receive a voucher towards the purchase of a meal in our Atrium cafeteria, a Hospital pharmacy discount and an invitation to attend periodic lectures and special events.
