As an integral part of Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, the region's only dedicated hospital for neuroscience, Neurological Surgery is one of the busiest academic neurosurgical programs in the country.
We offer state-of-the-art treatment to patients with neurological diseases affecting the brain and spine, such as brain tumors, spinal disease, vascular brain diseases, epilepsy, pain, Parkinson's disease and many other neurological disorders. In addition, we provide expert care of traumatic injuries to the brain, spinal cord and nerves, as well as to the skull and spine.
Our physicians are pioneers in treating cerebral aneurysms through such endovascular procedures as using mini-catheters to deliver clot-dissolving drugs directly to the brain as well as having the most experience in the Delaware Valley using coils to treat aneurysms through a minimally invasive embolization procedure.
Our neurosurgeons have helped to write the textbooks and set training standards referenced by other doctors around the world, and participate in leading-edge multidisciplinary care.
