Suffering a stroke is a devastating event. Getting immediate and appropriate treatment is essential to making a full recovery.

The Jefferson Comprehensive Stroke Center is one of the most advanced and acclaimed centers in the U.S. for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research of stroke. It's also the largest facility dedicated to the care of acute stroke in the Delaware Valley.

The Comprehensive Stroke Center is housed within Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, the only hospital dedicated to neuroscience in the region. Here, we have the highest number of board-certified neuro-intensivists and the highest number of dual-trained endovascular neurosurgeons in the region. Center Director Rodney Bell, MD, was the nation's first doctor to perform brain perfusion for stroke treatment.

In addition, we are supported by a superb team of neuro-intensivists, therapists, nurses, neurophysiologists, physiatrists, case managers and other healthcare professionals dedicated to the care of stroke patients.
