Organ Transplantation…the Journey Home

Transplant recovery

Many people with long standing diabetes tend to find that may begin to have a reduction in renal function. When that happens, your doctor will refer you to a nephrologist for a kidney evaluation. This can be the beginning of a long road but fear not, there is light at the end of the tunnel! Organ transplantation can be the path to a new life.

In this workshop we will discuss the following concerns:  What is kidney transplantation? Do I need a transplant? How do I get on “The List"? Do I have a living donor? What is the surgery all about? I have my new kidney…Now What?
